Family project...

With Emily starting 1st grade next year, I thought it would best to get her a desk. This way she can have an area away from my clutter and Katie and Mia's noise. I was pretty frazzled by the idea of spending so much money, so I came to terms with having to garage sale shop. So one afternoon after Mia's doctors appointment I thought I'd give it a try. I think the reason why I never garage sale shopped was because of the possibility of spending hours hopping from house to house and finding nothing.  I am an indecisive shopper with new things how could I possible to spend our hard earned money on something old and tattered? I lucked out on my first run, I scored an unfinished desk! This may be corny but this desk project became something that really brought my family together. Blake spent countless hours sanding and staining the desk! Emily and I scoured the local Goodwill to find the perfect chair. It was so neat listening to Emily talk about the plans she had for her chair, she even named it Chelsea!  Katie doesn't think too much of it now but hopefully when she starts pre-school in August she'll give it a go!
